"Kan även innehålla ..." istället för "Kan innehålla spår av ..."?
En chokladleverantör som tidigare haft frasen ”May contain traces of nuts” och på svenska ”Kan innehålla spår av nötter.” på etiketten vill nu ändra frasen till ”May also contain nuts”, alltså på svenska ”Kan även innehålla nötter” mot bakgrund av BRC:s rekommendationer att inte använd uttrycket ”traces of”. Leverantören säger såhär till oss:
We are making this amendment based on advice from BRC who say in their guidance:
"This phrase should be followed by the following potential cross contamination statement. With the purpose to avoid consumer confusion, the word “also” will be used in this phrase. Example:
"Traces covers all sorts of levels and given the potential sensitivity of some allergic people traces is only an additional word. It could be used, but if there was significant contamination there could be arguments about what traces means to the consumer."
Vilken av de båda fraserna rekommenderar ni att vi använder i den svenska översättningen?
